Loon Camp Addition (Round 2)

Loon Camp was one of the original hunting cabins on the property. The building currently is in need of foundational repair around the non original kitchen addition. While repairing the foundation of the kitchen addition is possible there has been family interest to remove the kitchen and replace it with a new addition that includes an interior bathroom. In effort to aid discussions, Rooney + Rooney Design has put together the following initial design options based on family comments. The options are as follows:

Notes since board of directors call on 4/2/23

1. A door on the east side of the building (facing the lodge) would make more sense as a primary entrance.

2. The bathroom in the south west corner makes the sanitary sewerage easiest due to the current pump location.

3. A proposed option (Option 5c) as an alternative to a second floor. The second floor may overwhelm the charm of the current cabin. (Also in this option we could consider renovating the back closet room of the sleeping cabin into a bunk bed room.)

4. Moving existing openings into the existing cabin should be avoided for preservation purposes.

5. Only one bathroom on the first floor.
